The American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Student Chapter of Michigan Tech is an academic student organization for students working towards a degree in, or are engaged in research in the `interdisciplinary fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geographic information systems (GIS). The undergrads and graduate students at Michigan Tech that ulilize the art and science of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and GIS are in disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, geology, applied geophysics, geological engineering, electrical engineering, forestry and ecology, civil and environmental engineering, and surveying engineering. The ASPRS Student Chapter of Michigan Tech aims to offer students interested in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and GIS the opportunity for networking locally, regionally, nationally and internationally at regional speciality conferences, workshops, technical tours, and social event, as well as opportunities for student scholarships and possible jobs. The ASPRS Student Chapter of Michigan Tech is an administrative sub-unit of the Western Great Lakes Region of ASPRS. All members of Michigan Tech's student chapter must also be student members of ASPRS.
